Satopanth Tal is a majestic lake that lures the attention of adventure freaks to an altitude of 4600m above sea level, in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand near the shrine of Badrinath. The triangular lake is situated at the confluence of Garhwal and emanates immense serenity around itself. The three corners of this lake believed to be representing the mythical Hindu God Trinity, the Brahma, the Vishnu and the Mahesh (Shiva) who are believed to have meditated at three corners. During solar and lunar fortnights, this place gets overcrowded with people who come here for the ultimate salvation.
Satopanth lake trekking begins from Mana Village, which is at a distance of 3 km from Badrinath and home to a natural rock bridge named Bhim Pul.
During the journey, one can have the chance to witness the surreal views of Vasundhara Falls and India’s last village Mana.
Though the journey being pretty haphazard, the beautiful scenic view takes away all the pain undergone in making this expedition successful.
